A Young Person’s Guide to the Ballet
Connecting the Arts to Learning Through Music and Movement
Each season Inland Pacific Ballet’s presents its highly acclaimed educational program, A Young Person’s Guide to the Ballet, to students enrolled in grades Pre-K through High School. IPB strives to offer this program at an affordable cost for students from accredited public, private, charter and homeschools (Children must be Pre-school age 3 or older to attend.)
Teachers from throughout Los Angeles, San Bernardino, Riverside and Orange counties are invited to bring their students to experience the magic of ballet and live theater in a 75-90 minute morning performance just for students and teachers.
Sinc it’s inception 27 years ago, A Young Person’s Guide to the Ballet has introduced more than 150,000 persons to the magic of ballet.
IPB’s programs are presented in one of three beautiful theaters:
• Lewis Family Playhouse, Victoria Gardens Cultural Center, Rancho Cucamonga
An intimate, state of the art performing arts center that opened in 2006.
• Bridges Auditorium, Pomona College, Claremont
A majestic 2,400 seat theater built in 1931 theatre where Inland Pacific Ballet is Company in Residence.
• Fox Performing Arts Center, Riverside
A historic Fox Theatre 1,700 seat movie house built in 1929 and completely renovated in 2009.
Free study guides are available on our website for teachers with pre- and post-performance activities aligned with California’s State Content Standards, California Common Core State Standards, Standards for English Language Arts, and California’s English Language Development Standards. The study guides can be downloaded from our website under the Teacher Resources tab.
