Founded in 1991, the Inland Pacific Ballet Academy (IPBA) offers professional dance training at its Montclair studios to students from the Inland Empire and throughout southern California. IPBA serves students of all ages and levels of experience, from beginners to professionals, and was recognized as the 2016 Youth America Grand Prix Outstanding School.
Performing opportunities at IPBA include our annual Spring Recital, Jr. Broadway Program, and Summer Intensive Showcase. IPBA students may also audition to perform with the Inland Pacific Ballet Company in The Nutcracker, where students perform alongside professional dancers in a fully staged production.
IPBA’s Afternoon Program offers students of all ages and at all levels from beginning to professional, training in ballet, tap, modern, and contemporary dance. Beginning with Pre-Ballet for 3-5 year olds, class offerings include technique, pointe, and variations with dedicated classes for adults and teens.
Designed for students ages 7-18 who are homeschooled, attend a charter school or on an independent study program, IPBA offers three focus areas: Classical Movement, Athletics, and Musical Theater.
Performing in a small ensemble is an excellent way for dancers to learn to work as a team, develop communication skills, and build social connections with others. Ensembles provide excellent preparation for being part of a larger performance cast.
The Jr. Broadway program provides a platform for young people to experience firsthand the professional elements of putting on musical theater performances. The eight-week program culminates with public performances of the selected production.
IPBA’s Summer Intensive provides dedicated time to explore new or favorite areas of movement and performance. The 4-5 week program is a comprehensive training program for the serious dancer, that typically includes all dance forms – Ballet, Pointe, Contemporary, Broadway Ensemble, Pilates, Choreography, Improvisation, Men’s Class and Repertory.
IPBA’s annual Spring Recital presents a classic story ballet performed entirely by students. All Levels in the IPB Academy participate in this delightful event — from 3 year old Pre-Ballet students through the upper division’s most advanced dancers, and the show often includes upwards of 150 dancers.
